Grandma's Old Fashioned Custard Pie

This is a recipe that my mother got from her grandmother. It has been included in every holiday meal that I can remember. One day I will pass this delicious recipe on to my daughter. In the mean time I'm going to share
it with you.

Grandma's Old Fashioned Custard Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg (with additional nutmeg for sprinkling later)
  • 2-2/3 cups of milk

Instructions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350
  2. Beat your eggs slightly, then add sugar, salt, nutmeg, and milk. Beat well and poor into the unbaked pie shell.
  3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
  4. Sprinkle the top of pie with fresh ground nutmeg and serve.
